• Poor Customer Service, 90 bucks down the drain | Rating: | Date: 2008-09-05

  I bought this for my best friends birthday, unfortunately I odrered it too soon from Amazon, and can't return it to them (I ordereed it a month before his bday and it can only be exchanged within 30 days). It worked for three days then froze up reqiring a reboot, loosing all stored music and video, and even though the firmware was updated before it was used, the manufacturer claims (through its automated customer service) this is the problem. After three reboots, it stopped working completely. Repeated phone calls and emails to Zen have been useless - if you email customer service you get into a mobius loop of automated emails and useless suggestions, and no follow up by the company (and no information on how to exchange or return it). Don't get suckered into buying from a company that dosn't care about you enough to spend two minutes to answer your emails or phone calls. If you do buy one - get an extended warantee through the seller, 'cause you'll probably need it.

  While charging the player, i can't listen to the songs..its a biggest problem for me..as i do charging and listening simultaneously while I go in my car.Other than that..Iam good with this player.

  The main reason I ordered this item is because netlibrary.com listed it as one that could be used with their audiobook downloads. I've downloaded several books and so far it is working fine. Charge seems to last plenty long so haven't bothered to get any other charger. I did purchase a cassette adapter very reasonable at Best Buy and can play the books through my car speakers. Paid a little more than I would have liked, but so far I'm not disappointed.

  This is probably the 5th MP3 player that I have purchased. I have a Toshiba Gigabeat that I love, but it is a larger 20G that is more suitable to listening to music in the house/car/office or any other situation where physical activity is not an issue. I was looking for something to complement my active lifestle of running, biking, hiking, etc.. This small machine is perfect for me! Very small, extremely intuitive and easy to use, with the added bonuses of video and FM radio. What more could you ask for?

  WOW what a great product. I had originally purchased another product which I had to return. This is the greatest gadget. I can download movies and music. I have stored pictures and files. I absolutely love this product.
